We love pizza around here (we may or may not have had pizza three times last week). We’re also big fans of cheese! You’ll find both in this cheese stuffed crust recipe!
It’s definitely worth taking the time to make your own pizza dough (I love that fresh dough smell!). You can find my recipe for crusty pizza dough here. Choose whatever toppings you’d like for your pizza, I chose turkey pepperoni (which tastes just as good as “regular” pepperoni!) and grilled onions, two of our favorites.
Needed:
- pizza dough
- 8oz marinara sauce
- 6 mozzarella sticks
- 8oz mozzarella cheese
- pizza toppings
Prepare pizza dough. Press dough out into an even circle on a parchment lined pizza pan. Cut mozzarella sticks in half.
Place mozzarella sticks around the edge of the circle. Pull edges of dough up and over mozzarella sticks and press to seal the dough. Use a fork to poke holes in the center of the dough. Bake at 400F for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and add sauce and toppings. Bake for 15-20 minutes more, or until crust is crispy and cheese has melted.
Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping the crust in, if you’d like. Making pizza is as simple as that! I can’t wait to use this stuffed crust recipe for my Chicken Alfredo Pizza. It’s great to be able to make yummy cheese stuffed crust at home!
