Christmas is just one week away and it’s my favorite time of the year… I totally get into all of the decorating, and baking, and crafting. Each year I try to find several new projects to try around the holidays, and these fire starters were one of the things that I created this season. They’re simple to make and they work so well (so much better than the fire starter sticks that we have been buying)!
If you’re looking for a small DIY gift, or something that you can create over your Christmas vacation, these pinecone fire starters are the perfect project for you! I love that these aren’t just a holiday craft, we’ll be using them all winter long.
you’ll need:
- soy candle wax flakes
- pinecones
- candle wax dye (optional)
- wired candle wicking
you probably already have on hand:
- wooden spoon
- heat proof container
- shallow pot
- wax paper
- scissors
I followed this tutorial from Something Turquoise. Jen has easy-to-follow instructions and some great tips, check out the full tutorial HERE.These are so easy, and practical too, let me know if you try them out!
