Crescent Roll Taco Pizza

Crescent Roll Taco Pizza

Looking for a quick and easy meal? Try this Crescent Roll Taco Pizza! It’s a fun twist on tacos that can be made in under half an hour. The slight sweetness of the crescent rolls is a great compliment to the spiciness of the taco meat. My mom used to use these ingredients to make a crescent-topped casserole, it was always a family favorite, I thought it would be fun to try making it in pizza form!

Like most of my recipes, this one can easily be altered to include whatever ingredients you like… try it with ground turkey or shredded chicken and add any variety of beans and cheese.

  • 1 tube crescent rolls
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 cup black beans (drained)
  • 1 cup canned diced tomatoes (drained)
  • 2 cups cheese (I used cheddar and mozzarella)
  • taco seasoning

You can use whatever taco seasoning mix or packet you usually cook with, this is the spice mixture that I used:

  • 1  1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper (to taste)

Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent rolls on the baking sheet. Press together the crescent roll’s seams. While hamburger is browning, pre-bake crescent roll crust for 5 minutes then remove from oven. When hamburger meat is cooked, drain, then mix in taco seasoning (add a little water to help incorporate seasoning).

Layer meat, beans, and tomatoes over the crescent roll crust. Top with cheese. Bake for 15 more minutes, or until crust is light brown and cheese has melted. Slice and serve right away. Top with extra crushed red pepper flakes for added heat!

    1. Partially pre-baking the crust does help the bottom to lightly brown and get a bit crispy, but the crust still stays soft like a crescent roll (it’s definitely an eat-it-with-a-fork pizza).

Ranch (or sour cream) would be a great addition to this dish!
